From Times Square hotels: the easiest ways to Javits

Most hosted buyers are in the Times Square area. Here’s the fastest way to reach Javits each morning.

Walk (~20 minutes / ~1 mile)
A simple, flat route heading west on 42nd St. or 34th St. Great on a clear fall morning.

Subway (18–26 minutes)

• Walk to Times Square–42 St station and follow signs for the 7 train (purple circle).
• Take the 7 one stop to 34 St–Hudson Yards (last stop).
• Exit Hudson Blvd East, then walk west along 34th St to Javits (34th St & 11th Ave).

Tip: Tap to pay with your contactless card/phone—no MetroCard needed. Trains run every 3–6 minutes at peak.

Taxi / car (time varies by traffic)

• Clear weather, light traffic: 6–12 minutes
• Typical weekday rush hour: 10–20 minutes
• Rainy morning: 15–25 minutes (up to 25–35 with heavy rain/incidents)

Ask your hotel to hail a yellow cab—often faster than waiting for rideshare.

We recommend leaving your hotel by 07:00 on Wednesday, October 14 and 07:30 on Thursday, October 15 to allow time for registration and wayfinding inside Javits.

Different variables such as heavy traffic and tolls should be taken into account in gauging the final cost of your trip.

A cab ride between Grand Central, Penn Station or Port Authority to the Javits Center can cost anywhere from $8-$15 depending on the traffic.

 

The New York metropolitan area is serviced by three major airports: JFK International, Newark International and LaGuardia Airport. Travel time by taxi from the airports to midtown Manhattan varies by airport. Travel time from LaGuardia to midtown can take anywhere from 25-40 minutes. JFK can take anywhere from 45 minutes to over an hour and Newark 40 to 60 minutes.

Citi Bike is New York’s popular new bike sharing system, which features thousands of bikes at hundreds of stations around the city. The bikes can be rented from and returned to any station in the system, and are available 24/7, 365 days a year. You may choose to purchase a 24-Hour Access Pass for $9.95 or a 7-Day Access Pass for $25. Access Passes may only be purchased at Citi Bike stations, using the touchscreen kiosk. A Citi Bike station is conveniently located on 34th Street at 11th Avenue.
